A $750 one off Economic Support Payment:

Australian government will pay first $750 payment automatically from 31 March 2020 to people living in Australia & were receiving any of the below Eligible payments between 12 March 2020 – 13 April 2020.

Eligible payments include:

Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment, Carer Allowance, Parenting Payment, Wife Pension, Widow B Pension, ABSTUDY (Living Allowance), Austudy, Bereavement Allowance, Newstart Allowance, Youth Allowance, Partner Allowance, Sickness Allowance, Special Benefit, Widow Allowance, Farm Household Allowance, Family Tax Benefit A, Family Tax Benefit B, Double Orphan Pension.

You’ll also get the payment if you have 1 of the following concession cards:
• Pensioner Concession Card
• Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
• Veteran Gold Card.

You’ll also get the payment if you get 1 of the following
Department of Veterans’ Affairs payments:

• Veteran Service Pension
• Veteran Income Support Supplement
• Veteran Compensation payments, including lump sum payments
• War Widow(er) Pension.

Make sure your personal details including Bank account is up to date just in case it’s not correct or need updating only then you can use MyGov & update it in Centrelink Account or if you have Express Plus Centrelink App you can update there. You can also call to update your details.

Its Tax Free/ Tax exempt Payment & You’ll only get 1 payment, even if you get more than one qualifying payment or card.

Coronavirus Supplement

The temporary Coronavirus Supplement is $550 & will be paid automatically for 6 months on fortnightly basis starting from 27th April 2020.
You’ll automatically get the supplement if you’re getting one of these payments:
• JobSeeker Payment
• Youth Allowance for job seekers
• Youth Allowance for students
• Austudy for students
• ABSTUDY for students
• Parenting Payment
• Farm Household Allowance
• Special Benefit.

If you’re not already getting any of the above payments and need to claim you can apply that through myGov using a Centrelink online Account or Phone Centrelink.

Tests
• We’ll waive asset testing from 27 April for 6 months, except for Farm Household Allowance and Special Benefit.
• Income testing will still apply.
• If you’re eligible to get the Coronavirus Supplement, waiting period will be waived for liquid asset test & newly arrived residents, also for seasonal work preclusion period.
• Income maintenance and compensation preclusion periods will continue to apply.

Crisis Payment
If you can’t work because you’re isolated at home due to coronavirus & get income support payment like Job seeker Or Youth Allowance and don’t have any leave entitlements you may get Crisis Payment. Crisis Payment is a one off payment equal to a week’s pay of your existing income support payment rate.

Second Economic Support Payment
You may get it if you were eligible on 10 July 2020 for any payments or concession cards that were eligible for the first Economic support payment ,It will be paid out from 13 July 2020. Please note You will not get this payment if you’re getting the Coronavirus Supplement.
